Deprescribing in the context of limited life expectancy (D-PiLL)
Clinicians’, patients’ and carers’ perspectives on an individualised approach to deprescribing of long-term preventative medicines in people with limited life expectancy
Short title: D-PiLL
Who we’re recruiting
This interview study seeks to recruit;
- Adults aged ≥65 years, with ≥2 long-term conditions who are receiving ≥2 more of the following long-term preventative medications; antiplatelets, anticoagulants, antidiabetics, antihypertensives, bisphosphonates, statins and their cares/relatives.
- GPs and Clinical Pharmacists
What is involved
Participating sites will support patient, carer, GP and Clinical Pharmacist recruitment to participate in this interview study.
Patient recruitment will involve running a search provided by the researchers to identify potentially eligible patients, eligibility screening and invitation mailout via the study Doc Mail account to 40 eligible patients.
Participating sites will be asked to circulate an email to all GPs and Clinical Pharmacists within the practice to invite them to participant in one interview via MS Teams. GPs and Clinical Pharmacists interested in taking part will be advised to contact the researchers directly to express interest and arrange an interview.
