GP referral to community pharmacies

A study conducted by the University of Manchester, which aims to evaluate GP referrals to community pharmacies.  A key benefit of participating in this study is the opportunity to get tailored feedback at the end of the study. This means that your practice will be able to gain valuable insights into how you manage GP referrals to community pharmacies compared to what is done elsewhere. The research team will be happy to present the findings at one of your practice meetings.

The Study aims to understand more about the long-term outcomes and service use of patients living with and beyond a diagnosis of cancer.

TailorEd iNtervention for brain HeAlth aNd Cognitive Enrichment for underserved people at higher risk of dementia in the UK (The ENHANCE Trial)

A Randomised Controlled Trial to assess effectiveness of the ENHANCE app in preventing cognitive decline versus Care As Usual (CAU), cost-effectiveness and implementation.

The IRIS+ Programme for Men and Children.

The study will compare outcomes in IRIS+ practices with those in standard IRIS practices. Researchers at the University of Bristol will evaluate whether IRIS+ is both effective and cost-effective for men, young people, and children, and whether it can be successfully implemented on a larger scale.

Cleft @18-23 is a research study looking into variation in outcomes at the end of routine care for young adults born with cleft lip or palate or both.  

We want to know if outcomes vary for individuals according to their ethnicity, sex, socio-economic status, health literacy and geography.

Does dietary advice based on food allergy tests improve disease control compared with standard care in children with eczema? (TIGER)

The TIGER study is aiming to find out whether changes to the diet of children with eczema, based on the results of food allergy tests, improves their eczema control or not.

How do we best support people who are co-dependent on street benzodiazepines and opioids? (Benzo-opioid study)

The aim of this study is to explore the views of GPs and drugs service staff on how best to support people who co-use street benzodiazepines and opioids like heroin. We’re interested in your views, including what you think about prescribing of benzodiazepines to this patient group.

Clinical and cost-effectiveness of digital technology for non-specific low back pain across an entire Integrated Care System pathway: The INSIGHT Study

Low back pain affects many people in the UK and accounts for 5% of GP appointments. Although we have digital tools to help people with low back pain, we don’t know how they work for patients and healthcare professionals, and whether they provide good care. getUBetter is a digital health app used by the NHS to support people with low back pain. The INSIGHT study aims to understand the clinical and cost-effectiveness of implementing the getUBetter app into primary care.
